Laurel Ann Winkle was born in Los Angles where she began her love for writing, especially stories for children and young adults. Upon finishing high school, she became a professional ice skater. After skating throughout Europe and the U.S., she married an independent film producer and lived in Southern California and then near Seattle. Together, they raised their four children, while she finished her degree in psychology, coached figure skating, and continued to write her favorite stories in cozy and creative environments with a cup of hot tea nearby.
