This book is about a happy and intelligent young boy named Darius who lives with his mother and his dog Corky in a beautiful town. While Darius has some insecurities about his size compared to other children, he learns to overcome it, as well as the loss of a parent, and an unexpected relocation when he and his mother are forced to leave the beautiful town and move to the city. But these very things are what propel him into the adventure of a lifetime. Darius makes new friends in the new city but there are new challenges as well where he is a witness to bullying at his new school. But most importantly, he is gifted a time traveling treehouse by his grandfather which transports him and Corky to visit a great hero from long ago. Through that experience Darius learns to stand up for what is right for both himself, and others as well. What is most important, he learns that he can be the hero of his own story.

Melvin Wright is the pastor of the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church of Knoxville, TN where he has been since March of 2007.
Published (A Church Without Walls, A Practical Application of The Book of Acts, Xulon Press, 2018) Pastor Wright holds a Master of Arts degree in Religion from Liberty School of Divinity and a Doctorate in Theology from Newburgh Theological Seminary and Bible College.
Since 1987, he has been married to Deborah Ann Sanford, also of Philadelphia. He has two children, Stepson Eric and Daughter Kristen, and granddaughter Madison, all of Philadelphia, PA.
