This little book, while
calling attention to a very disdainful situation, attempts to show the
hypocritical behavior on the part of many parents in the disciplining of their
children. In overlooking the significance of love in correcting their children,
so often tempers flare leaving the child no recourse but to tolerate whatever
is tossed his or her way. I personally have intervened in some cases when
brutality was imminent. Children often either pass along their anger to playmates
or hold in the emotions until later when they attempt to express it in various
ways to their supervisors. In some cases, their built-up anger is demonstrated
later by disrespect to parents and others. This book attempts to show that
discipline when administered with firmness and love offers a profound change in
the attitude of the youngsters.

B.T.
Prince, Jr., a retired businessman, is a deacon, outreach volunteer, lay
minister, and evangelist at Carmel Baptist Church, Matthews, N.C. As a
volunteer evangelist, he has traveled to many areas of the world and has
encountered many people who, while professing to be Christians even to the
extent of being church and community leaders without realizing their failure to
properly treat children as real live human beings. Instead, by this heinous
oversight, they themselves are relegated to discouragement and discipline much
akin to the residents of the animal world thereby forfeiting the joy of being a
proud, effective, and Godly parent of an outstanding person. This book attempts
to call attention to these unfortunate failures and suggests ways to move right
to the heart of this universal problem.
