There had been an ongoing famine in Israel for 3 years. When King David inquired of God as to why, he found out it was because of King Saul's sin against the Gibeonites. Because of Saul's sin, 2 of his sons and 5 of his grandsons suffered an early death as payment for Saul's sin. His sons' mother was Rizpah; his grandsons' mother was Merab.
Rizpah's actions were recorded for all to read. Her story of dedication and perseverance showed as she sat there protecting the remains of the innocent lives lost. Her vigil prompted King David to provide proper burials to Saul and his family. The famine also came to an end.
This study is packed with stories from the Bible, to show that healing is available through Jesus Christ.
Because of Jesus Christ we are "free from the law of sin and of death." (Romans 8:2b NASB)

Darlene resides in the Southeastern part of Virginia. She has a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Norfolk State University and an M.A. in Practical Theology from Regent University. An Ordained Elder, she has served in various positions and outreaches throughout her service.

One of her favorite scriptures from Romans 12:2 (Amplified) “And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].”
