Yeshua's parting words to his Jewish disciples were very clear––they were to go into the whole world and preach the gospel to the Jews first, and then the Gentiles. This was the Great Commission. As a result of the disciples' obedience, first-century Gentiles flocked to the synagogues to worship with the Jews. Centuries later, it is Gentiles who are preaching the gospel to Gentiles, and leaving the Jews out of the picture. A great separation now exists between Jews and Gentiles. What caused this great divide? Is it possible that following Yeshua's exact order holds the Master's Key to healing this divide?
Dr. Carick skillfully explores the Jewish-Gentile relationships throughout Scripture, using outstanding biblical scholarship and exegesis. She thoughtfully addresses the historical barriers created by Christian Anti-Semitism, and offers steps to heal the divide and restore the Jewish-Gentile connection. As an added bonus, she includes her case study of a mega-church conducting weekly services for Jews and Gentiles together. The case study reveals fascinating insights from the participants interviewed for the study. This book makes a very compelling case that the Jewish-Gentile connection is the Master's Key to fulfilling the Great Commission.
Dr. Carick has been an enthusiastic student of Scripture for decades. She completed her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Messianic Jewish Studies, and since 2013, she has been the teaching pastor of Shalom Yeshua Ministries, a Messianic Jewish congregation in Evansville, Indiana. She has been a contributing writer for newspapers and magazines and a featured guest on multiple shows hosted by Now You See TV. Her teaching videos are posted at https://ShalomYeshua.org and on YouTube and Rumble.
The author’s passion for biblical research is rivalled only by her passion for music. She has performed extensively, as a soloist and with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and worship bands. For her Master of Music degree, she published a thesis on a very rare form of harpsichord music notation. She was a winner in a national harpsichord competition, and featured guest musician on Robert Schueller’s international broadcast, “Hour of Power.” Dr. Carick is happily married, with seven children and six grandchildren.
