Jason Barrett is the widowed pastor of a small rural church in the high desert of Arizona. While walking in the desert, Pepper-his faithful Australian shepherd-finds the body of a homeless girl. One event leads to multiple events that only God can put together. Pepper never leaves Jason's side, and helps him comfort church members and navigate troubles, new friends and even an unexpected new relationship. David Boyer was born in Tucson, and has been living in the high desert of southern Arizona for most of his life. He graduated from Arizona State University and retired from a career in engineering. David is currently a worship leader, a songwriter and an avid dog-lover. He is a father and grandfather, and has always had a beloved Australian shepherd and a rescue dog by his side, who have taught him much.
