My wife and I have known Sandra for most of our adult lives. Since making the Lord Jesus our focus and desire, it is a daily practice for us to seek the Lord, as devotionals invite you to do. When she read me the title, I laughed, but the content was so much more revealing. One can only write a "Life Lessons" devotional if you've lived the length of time it takes to accumulate enough experiences to draw from. These aren't your everyday lessons; they are thought-provoking but simple. They are combined with relevant Bible quotes and prayers, dreams and inspiration, and heart, along with Grandma's wisdom. I've known Sandra as a lifelong musician, soloist, and teacher of the arts to the same students and audiences she is now writing to, hoping to inspire a laugh, perhaps even provoke a tear. Really, these bits of insight are so timely…I challenge you to read any one of them. There's nothing like this. Here's a twist – Sandra even provides twelve poems to deepen the understanding of Passover. (I personally like that.). I believe you'll quickly agree – this one's a keeper! Sandra Curless is a grandmother who prayed for a way to convey her deepest thoughts and prayers to her grandchildren. As a young person she was a hippie and hitch-hiked throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada in search of God. Disappointed in the church, she had decided that Jesus Christ could not be God, but to her surprise the living Christ revealed Himself to her and changed the trajectory of her life. She now wishes to share the lessons learned in her life to a younger generation so that they may find hope and purpose for their lives.
