There is a hidden immaterial universe governed by the principles of quantum mechanics that scientists are still struggling to understand. Although recent discoveries have explained some aspects of the immaterial universe, scientists have not yet reached a uniform interpretation of quantum wave behavior and are at an impasse to fully explain the specific dynamic roles that wave functions play. This book examines principles of science, as well as theology, to address some of the unanswered issues in quantum mechanics.
A better understanding of the hidden immaterial universe and its functions could also address unanswered issues in the scientific disciplines of physics, the life sciences, neuroscience, evolution and theology, such as the origin of the soul and man's destiny after death. The overall goal of this book is to stimulate interdisciplinary discussion and research that hopefully leads to a better understanding of the universe we live in.

Jack K. Mayfield, MD, MS, M.Div., former Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota, received his AB/MD degrees from Indiana University, MS degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and M.Div. degree from Western/Phoenix Seminary. He practiced orthopedic surgery in Phoenix, Arizona, authored numerous scientific papers and chapters in orthopedic textbooks and was a guest lecturer in science and theology at Phoenix Seminary and Grace School of Theology in Houston, Texas. His book “Salvation and Christian Theology; A Comparison of Protestant Theological Systems” explains the history and principles of Protestant theologies. His intrigue with recent discoveries in quantum mechanics and the interplay with theological issues led to this book. Now retired, he and his wife Cathy currently divide their time between Phoenix and Belmont, Michigan. They enjoy traveling, reading, writing and spending time with family and friends.
